Sub Sea Cathodic
Protection Survey System.
The CPDAS (Cathodic Protection
Data Acquisition System) online CP & FG
monitoring system was developed utilising the
combined knowledge and experience of nearly
100 man years in the field, with thousands of
pipeline and structural CP surveys undertaken
over the last 20 years.
This knowledge and experience
has played a major part in the development of
the most advanced and reliable online sub sea
structural and pipeline CP inspection system
available anywhere.
Two Ag/AgCl half cells
are housed within the probe body, allowing contact
and continuous potential/ field gradient measurements
to be taken.
The raw analogue cathodic
potentials from each of the cells are converted
to a digital output. The data conversion is
undertaken in a sub sea electronics pod, which
is rated to 2000msw depth.
Depending on the requirements,
data can also be digitised at the surface for
input into the on-line logging computer.
The system also has an
event logging function using a set of programmable
soft keys that logs events and anomalies using
the UKOOA standard reporting methodology. The
CPDAS system is the first and only dedicated
sub sea CP/FG monitoring system with the unique
ability to capture live video stream from the
ROV cameras, possible only by using the latest
video compression technology, this to provide
a visual reference for CP events in the form
of real-time video clips & screen grabs
which can thereafter be easily incorporated
into the final report CD.
ISIS can also undertake
trailing wire CP surveys, this method provides
quick cost-effective method to gain information
on the general condition of the pipeline's CP
system and is particularly useful when undertaking
surveys of inshore and buried pipelines.
Charts can be produced
in a variety of scales to show both local and
global variations.
CP Survey reports can
be produced in either hard copy or electronic
format to suit Client requirements.
